I love the fact that my kids love to be outdoors, there are so many things to explore and see plus they get fresh air which is important to us and that’s why we’re so excited to tell you about the 5th annual National Park Trust’s Kids to Park Day being held on May 16, 2015!
“National Park Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving parks today and creating park stewards for tomorrow. As people spend more time indoors and as successive generations grow up with less of a connection to nature, NPT wants to build a greater awareness and appreciation for the importance of our country’s public lands and parks.”
Last year nearly 450,000 people participated in Kids to Parks Day and this year over 500,000 are expected to. In a day when 1-in-3 children suffer from obesity and even more from “Nature Deficit Disorder”, Kid to Parks Day is a great way to get outside & active without breaking the bank.

We enjoy the outdoors with our 4 and 7 year olds by hiking in our PA state park system. The kids and adults both love it!
We as a family hike Yellowstone each year.
My daughter (8), our dogs, and I love spending time in the parks of WA, CA, and OR. I love teaching my daughter about nature and letting her and our dogs spend time outside. We spend our time walking, biking, and often just sitting and enjoying our surroundings. Every where we travel to we look for great places to explore and are fortunate to have parks available to us.
We enjoy the outdoors by taking a walk everyday outside.
We like to go on local walks and easy hikes with the kids, and we love camping!

We enjoy the outdoors by spending time playing outside with our dogs. As homeschoolers, we also often enjoy lesson outdoors – science & nature lessons really come to life that way!
We like to swim in the lake and pick blueberries.

We enjoy working in our vegetable and flower gardens. My daughter likes looking for frogs near our small creek and chasing butterflies in our field.
We enjoy the outdoors by taking our kiddos to play at our local park quite often! They love it! 🙂
